Gain the knowledge to support your own fitness jouney
The road toward an all-round sense of physical fitness is rarely linear – and, whatever our chose sport or workout routine, it feels as though setbacks (both physical and mental) are all too common.
We are all well aware of the immutable link between our ability to ensure that our bodies are getting the nutrients they need, and our bodies’ abilities to recover quickly and consistently from intensive training sessions or workouts.
Of course, we are also conscious of the fact that, when it comes to maintaining a more general sense of health and wellbeing, the value of nourishing our bodies with natural, organic ingredients and produce wherever possible, and consuming a full spectrum of essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids and food groups, cannot be overstated.
The solution, then, is to reach a point at which we are sufficiently fluent with the world of sports nutrition so as to ensure that we can support your own fitness journeys in the best possible way: from the inside out.
We’ve got you covered.
It is the sort of concise, logical solution which, for all of its merit ‘on paper’, poses a considerable challenge amid the demands of everyday life. It is for this reason alone that we first began to study those ingredients which stand to benefit us the most – and then to combine them into a new blend that makes a fast and healthy recovery that much easier.
Read more about our ingredients – and why they made the cut for our brand new organic blend, Recharge and Replenish, Vitality Boost – below.
Maca Root
Of all the superfoods to rise to the forefront of the health and wellness industry over the past few years, maca root ranks among the absolute best. Not only does it boast a rich and promising history as a stimulant and fertility within ancient and modern day Peru, but it has also been the subject of a great deal of scientific inquiry in recent years.
The root, or hypocotyl, is composed of around 15% protein, in addition to high levels of iron, zinc and calcium – all of which play vital roles in facilitating a fast and effective recovery. What’s more, the dried root also boasts a long list of essential and non-essential amino acids, including Valine and Isoleucine – both of which are valued for their anti-fatigue properties.
What’s more, its subtle, nutty taste is what naturally flavors our Recharge and Replenish, Vitality Boost blend, and makes it such a perfect addition to any drink – or even your morning yogurt.
CBD
CBD, or cannabidiol, is an extract derived from the cannabis plant that has seen a tremendous surge of interest over the past few years, as scientific and medical researchers around the world – not to mention health and wellness communities – have begun to invest a great deal of time and money into researching its potential health-giving properties.
In terms of achieving the best post workout recovery, organic CBD offers a number of potential benefits.
When ingested, the unique ways in which this extract is thought to interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system means that it could act as a strong anti-inflammatory – essential for muscles that are attempting to repair themselves following an intense workout, and for our ability to recover from muscle soreness before our next workout.
Along with all of our other ingredients found within the Recharge and Replenish, Vitality Boost blend, our CBD is USDA-certified organic – a value we would never overlook, in any of our products.
Baobab
The benefits of adding baobab – or, more specifically, the dried powder of the baobab fruit – into your fitness routine are so coveted within fitness communities around the world that this superfood is often recommended as both a pre- and post-workout supplement.
Like many of the entries on this list, its use extends far back in human history, but its utilization within western health and wellness circles remains relatively new.
The baobab fruit contains around seven times more vitamin C than oranges – something that is vital to allaying oxidative damage caused by intensive exercises. What’s more, vitamin C is great for boosting energy levels naturally, making it invaluable for those who are prone to a post-workout slump – and, of course, an indispensable ingredient in our Recharge & Replenish.
Turmeric
Turmeric has received a high level of attention over the past ten years, and for good reason. It garners a great deal of attention across both the medical and culinary worlds – a fact which has led to many of us consuming this powerful spice in much greater quantities of late.
The primary ingredient found within this golden root is curcumin – a powerful anti-inflammatory that, when ingested alongside components that boost its absorption within the body, can enable our muscles to bounce back more rapidly following intensive exercise.
Medicinal Mushroom Blend
Chaga
The chaga mushroom is found most commonly within colder environments, and, like many other superfoods, boasts a rich history within Eastern medicine. Traditionally, this mushroom is ground into powder, which is then brewed as a tea. This powder has become popular in the West, where it can be taken as a supplement, or drunk. This mushroom is a powerful anti-inflammatory.
Shiitake
While looks may be deceiving, mushrooms actually boast an incredible array of nutrients – all of which are unique to the species. In the case of shiitake, the high levels of beta-glucans ensure that the body is supported as it works to easy post-workout muscle inflammation.
Maitake
It is testament to the power of mushrooms that we couldn’t limit ourselves to just one or two when creating our Recharge and Replenish, Vitality Boost.
Maitake mushrooms may not be as much of a household name as shiitake, but they are still packed full of a wide variety of amino acids, potassium, beta-glucans – not to mention a good dose of vitamin C, all of which will prove invaluable to your body as it recovers from a hard workout.
Spirulina
We all know the benefits complementing our workouts with a good, high level of protein – but, for many of us, the first place our minds drift to is lean meat and fish. Still, whether through personal preference, or a concern for our carbon footprint, many of us are pursuing plant-based alternatives that deliver the same benefits in a more environmentally-sound way.
Spirulina, a cyanobacteria (algae) found in waters around the world, contains significant levels of protein, and can be easily consumed as a supplement to deliver that post-workout fix.
Goji Berry
While they might not look like much, goji berries pose a worthy rival to bananas in terms of the high levels of potassium they can offer – a mineral that plays a key role in maintaining our muscle cells, but also the cells in our bones and livers.
Like baobab, they are also good sources of vitamin C, while also being able to offer a dose of plant protein.
Every one of our ingredients is sustainably sourced from organic farms that operate harmoniously with the environment.
Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha has long-since been prized as an adaptogen, which are capable of offering therapeutic support against physical and emotional stress, and the disruption they cause within the body. Exercise, while beneficial, also causes ‘stress’ to our muscles – a fact which leads to the release of the hormone cortisol, which can cause a spike in blood sugar levels.
In the case of sports recovery, then, ashwagandha’s ability to modulate cortisol levels can prove highly beneficial to athletes.
Matcha
AKA Green Tea
Green tea is an excellent post-workout choice due to its ability to boost the metabolism, thanks in part to the natural caffeine found within these leaves – but also to the presence of the flavonoid catechin, which could help enhance weight loss following exercise.
Tart Cherry
Tart cherry, also known as sour cherry, is widely utilized by athletes – whether in a drink, powder, or concentrated within soft gels. There is plenty of research to suggest that tart cherry can aid in athletic recovery, by virtue of its anti-inflammatory properties.
.
Blueberry
The secret to the blueberry’s value for post-workout recovery is, believe it or not, hidden in plain sight. The flavonoid responsible for their blue hue, known scientifically as anthocyanins, possess powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.
Inflammation is an incredibly common response to the cell damage our muscles experience during exercise, and reducing that inflammation is an excellent way of ensuring that we can bounce back quickly.

Mg Glycinate
Magnesium (Mg) is invaluable to athletes, due to its ability to prevent muscle spasms – which can be caused by any number of reasons pertaining to strenuous exercise. While some athletes choose to bathe in Epsom salts, which contain high levels of magnesium, others ingest it as a supplement known as magnesium glycinate.
NaCl
Salt is all too easily overlooked when it comes to workout recovery. While excessive intake can have significant ramifications for your health, low sodium can be just as detrimental to your health – particularly when you are recovering from an intensive training session.
Salt is essential to many core functions within the body, such as maintaining good blood pressure, but we lose a great deal of it when we work up a sweat. As such, we all need to ingest salt post-workout, without going to excess.
Monk Fruit
Monkfruit is incredibly sweet – much sweeter, even, than the processed sugars many of us still keep lurking at the back of our pantries. What makes it different is the fact that it doesn’t elevate blood sugar levels – nor does it boast any calories, carbs, salt or fat.
.
What’s more, it doesn’t offer the same potential side effects as some of the most common artificial sweeteners on the market today, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to maintain equilibrium in their blood glucose, without sacrificing sweetness entirely.
Piperine
Piperine is also a firm staple within traditional medicine. It is found within black pepper, and is responsible for the ‘bite’ that is so unique to the seasoning. It is a strong anti-inflammatory, and often used to great effect to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin (turmeric).
Maltodextrin
Maltodextrin is widely used by athletes seeking to boost recovery due to the speed with which it can be absorbed within the body. It offers a great way to quickly boost glycogen levels, thus reducing muscle breakdown.
Citric Acid
Muscle fatigue is a powerful driving force behind our reluctance to head back into the gym in the wake of an intensive workout session – and, while our bodies need some time to recover, ensuring consistency is the best way to achieve tangible and lasting results.
Citric acid has been found to offer a tremendous aid to those prone to suffering from muscle fatigue. By reducing the concentration of lactate within the blood (caused by anaerobic glycolysis, the metabolic process triggered when our bodies require more oxygen than we can get from breathing), citric acid can lessen muscle fatigue during and after a strenuous workout.
Essential Oil
Essential oil is a term used to refer to concentrated extracts from plants. As such, they come from a natural source, and enable us to make use of a plant’s most revered health-giving properties in a convenient, undiluted form.
IN A NUTSHELL
The recovery period is a vital part of any workout. The body goes through a number of restorative and developmental processes during rest – and that is why it is so essential for anyone who is training their body, at any level – but those processes are far better aided when the body is nourished with the antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and energy boosters that
We all want to make the most of our recovery, but also to expedite the process in order to ensure we keep on track. It is for this reason that we devoted so much scrupulous research to creating our new blend, Recharge and Replenish, Vitality Boost, and why we believe its abundance of natural, organic and beneficial ingredients will make a significant difference to your fitness journey.
