The Current Regulatory State of Play for Hemp
In December of 2018, the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law. It removed hemp, defined as cannabis (Cannabis sativa L.) and derivatives of cannabis with extremely low concentrations of the psychoactive compound delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) (no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis), from the definition of marijuana in the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
Let’s take a look at the math together:
- The average weight of a THC Relax Gummy is 6 grams, or 6000 milligrams.
- We are left with 18 milligrams after multiplying 0.003 (or 0.3%), by 6000.
- This means that a 6 gram gummy may contain up to 18 mg of THC generated from hemp in accordance with the Farm Bill.
- The amount of THC we use in our Relax gummies is far less than the legal limit because we created our THC gummies with only 2 mg of THC per Relax gummy.

Full Spectrum vs Broad Spectrum vs Isolate
- Full spectrum CBD contains many cannabinoids and compounds from the hemp, including up to 0.3% THC.
- Broad spectrum CBD contains all the same compounds as full spectrum CBD, minus the THC.
- CBD isolates contain only CBD – none of the other cannabinoids and compounds of the plant.
Full Spectrum CBD
A One Farm Hemp products are “full spectrum.” We use USDA Organic hemp extract formulated with a wide range of cannabinoids, including a trace amount of THC and naturally occurring terpenes. Our full spectrum hemp extract has more cannabinoids and plant properties working together compared to other broad spectrum formulas. Our full spectrum formula will provide a more elevated feeling of calm and relaxation than broad spectrum products, but not at the same level as our THC Relax Gummies since those have higher milligrams of THC. While there is that trace amount of THC in these products, it is still under the legal limit.
With Full Spectrum all of the cannabinoids combine with all the powerful herbal properties of hemp in one dose. The advantage of Full Spectrum CBD is that it allows users to experience the “Entourage Effect”, a natural phenomenon that occurs when multiple cannabinoids and other compounds are consumed together. When this happens, the different compounds make each other work much more than they would naturally work alone.
Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad Spectrum CBD an option for those who want to be THC-free but want to try Hemp as a wellness solution. It includes a combination of CBD, CBG, and CBN, but most importantly there’s no detectable THC. While the effects won’t be as potent as our full spectrum formulas, you can feel comfort in knowing there is zero detectable THC in these products while still getting the support you are looking for.
